Name: Silent Valley: Mystery Mansion
Release Date: 31 October 2013
Developer: Vogat Interactive/G5 Entertainment
A supposedly romantic Honeymoon quickly turns into a suspenseful horror story, once you arrived at a beautiful mansion in the countryside, your husband has mysteriously disappeared - with a strange house-owner and spirits everywhere, what should you do?
Released on the past Halloween day, Silent Valley is the perfect game to satisfy your horror desires. The story is not specially spooky although it is extremely captivating and well-developed. However, the atmosphere is what makes Silent Valley so chilling, the theme of haunted manor is definitely not one of the most original themes but Silent Valley presents it so well with gorgeous use of sound effects and background music, the developer clearly knows how to play with people's nerves!
Silent Valley is developed by Vogat Games, who recently brought us Temptaion. Surprisingly, there is a major improvement on the visual side of the game as Silent Valley a much sharper, more attractive and cleaner graphics. The characters look great despite the lack of voice overs, plus, all the scenes are very detailed and neatly organized.
The gameplay is actually pretty straightforward if not for the unbearable amount of backtracking. There is no interactive offered, therefore, you have to rely heavily on your feet. Silent Valley is light on the amount of the Hidden Object scenes and a little heavier on puzzles. Both aspects are professionally done, Hidden Object scenes are enjoyable while puzzles are even though not terribly original, they are very logical as well as entertaining. Moreover, Silent Valley has some cool tasks and interactions which really involve you into the game, you really get to 'interact' with the objects; not just clicking, this involves some swiping, dragging, pulling and more!
Silent Valley: Mystery Mansion is an old-school horror adventure that did everything right. The presentation is impressive, story is well-written, the gameplay is very enjoyable and the setting is strangely creepy.
