Cooking Academy: Restaurant Royale

Time Management hardcore fans are definitely familiar with the Cooking Academy franchise from Fugazo. It is basically the only Time Management casual game that allow you to 'cook' for real. Cooking Academy: Restaurant Royale is the Free-to-Play version of the hit game, and it is even better than ever!

This time round, you have entered the TV Competition "Restaurant Royale"; you have to cook and serve, and win this thing! In the past, many of you have complained in that Cooking Academy is somewhat boring since all you have to do is cook repetitively. Not anymore, because in Cooking Academy: Restaurant Royale; it also let you decorate and manage your restaurant!

We love how the developer still based the game on the original concept but with some much-needed improvements and adaptations. In this game, you basically need to complete objectives and climb up the level. In order to do this, you need to cook and serve many recipes from American dishes to Asian dishes. Your customers will keep flooding into your restaurant and pay you money which you can use to spend on other decorations. Some decorations will increase the number of your customers while some are just for the look alone.

For each recipe, you can only perform one pre-selected stage of that recipe which is a bit different from the previous Cooking Academy games but it is a nice change since you cannot really perform all of the stages in a Free-to-Play game. Moreover, you can also plant some spices and gifts. These spices can be used to give you Perfect Matches if you match them with the correct recipe, which will reward you with extra skill points.

On the other hand, there are not much improvements to be seen in terms of the graphics. The characters look nice and the overall visuals are appealing, but it is not something really remarkable or incredibly beautiful. Anyway, the music is pleasant and the sound effects are great.

What we also love about Restaurant Royale is that although it is a Free-to-Play game, we never feel like the game forces us to buy the In-App Purchases unlike in many other cases of F2P games. As said, you can really play this game for 'Free of charge' which is a big, big plus for a game like this. For those who are more impatient, In-App Purchases are always available.

Cooking Academy: Restaurant Royale might not be the best-looking cooking game in the App Store, but it is the first game that implemented real cooking and restaurant-managing together. It is very entertaining, addicting and the most important of all, an inexpensive freemium game to play!
