Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova

Once you look at the title, you might gasp 'not another vampire story'! However, we could  proudly  tell you that Vampire Legends is one of those rare Vampire games that is actually good and creepy.

What makes Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova a great game is because it is based on 'true story'. The game sets in Kisilova, a town where vampire is first documented and the town is still existed nowadays. The game involves a lot of dialogues and conversations, although the voice overs are inconsistent in quality and accent; they are interesting to follow. As said, the base story of the game is creepy and great on its own but the way that the game tells the story is even better. Once the game progresses,  detailed  about the events are slowly revealed to create suspense and to chill your bones.

The atmosphere in Vampire Legends is plain creepy; some scenes might appear a bit dark and ominous but that suits the theme of the game really well. The graphics are detailed and nice to look at but still, we wish they are less grainy so we could enjoy them more.

The gameplay of Vampire Legends might be a little out-dated and there is basically nothing new about it. Hidden Object scenes are well cluttered and items are not too difficult to find but are quite well hidden. Puzzles are typical but very challenging at times. There is a map offered but it cannot be used to jump to another location, luckily, not much backtracking is needed.

Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova features around 3 and a half hours of gameplay for experienced players. The Bonus Chapter tells the events three years after the end of the main game, it is high in quality and has a satisfying length. Apart from the usual bonus Content, the developers has thoughtfully added some photographs of the town, Kisilova in the present day which are really creepy to look at. There are also two interview videos which add some extra details about the legend of the vampires if you want to know more about it.

Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova might not creep you out but all in all, it is very chilling and entertaining to play. The game combines great storytelling and spooky atmosphere together to create a gaming experience that is hard to forget.
